  1. i hate that she's made so much money doing something she didn't even want to do, and yet millions of beautiful girls who really want to model miss the opportunity. It just makes me feel her career has been so empty…

    • I agree. That was a very ungrateful thing to say. Also I have never liked her face, I always think she looks too old. Its her lips or something

    • Oh please, this is the fashion industry we're talking about! By its very nature fleeting & frivolous; it's not a job in the field of medicine, education or science. Which doesn't make it a bad thing; it's also a lot of fun and all of us on this site enjoy it but I can imagine if she wouldn't enjoy it as much as others (or as others perceive it to be!). She's perfectly entitled to her opinion and has obviously made the right decision to do something she doesn't really like in order to do that what she finds more valuable!

    • I think there's a difference between wanting to be a model "in the first place" and enjoying the course your life has taken. Just because she didn't think she would end up in this career doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate all that it's done for her and the opportunities she's gotten because of it. From the article, it sounds like she is perfectly happy with her life apart from fashion–there are some people who see fashion as life, and some people who see it as an industry, she's clearly of the latter. Does that make her empty? Hell no.

  4. Regarding “her career has been so empty” and “That was a very ungrateful thing to say”, isn’t fashion in essence just that: empty? Sure, it’s fun and I enjoy it but when objectively dissected: fashion is also very fleeting and frivolous, a luxury item one can afford only after all basic (more important!) needs have been fulfilled. Mrs. Kass is just speaking her mind and she’s entitled to it. The fact that many people might envy her job doesn’t mean she isn’t allowed to dislike it. She obviously made a wise decision by doing something she doesn’t quite like but that pays handsomely. This enables her to do what she would REALLY like to do and where her heart lies. In the end life is one big compromise.

  7. So, are you one of those millions of people who wanted to model but missed out? Cause you sound rather frustrated…
