Year in Review | Fall/Winter 2010 Campaigns

Continuing with our Year in Review, we now take a look at the fall 2010 campaigns. One major trend of the fall was groups–from Versace to Louis Vuitton, pairs and quartets were all the rage. Another trend of the fall season was minimalism. Many labels went with simple studio shoots or stark black and white photos from photography greats such as Mario Testino and Mert & Marcus. In the battle of spring versus fall, which season won out?

GIRLS ON FILM: The Alberta Ferreti campaign was a subdued yet beautiful affair starring Jac Jagaciak and Sigrid Agren lensed by Paolo Roversi

INTO THE RED: Balenciaga had a fashionable colony on Mars for its fall advertisements. Photographed by Steven Meisel a mix of veteran and newer models made this campaign almost unforgettable!

LARA TIME: Who could forget Lara Stone’s domination of the Calvin Klein brands? From ck to Calvin Klein Jeans, Lara Stone became the face of Calvin Klein and all its facets, photo by Mert & Marcus

SLEEK ARMANI: Edita Vilkeviciute brought her own brand of sexy to the fall campaign from Giorgio Armani–also photographed by Mert & Marcus

JIL’S RETURN: After taking a break for the spring season, Jil Sander was back in top shape for fall 2010 starring Miranda Kerr and Kasia Struss lensed by Willy Vanderperre

TO THE DESERT: Kenzo featured two of our favorite blondes, Lily Donaldson and Saha Pivovarova, in a desert setting photographed by Mario Sorrenti

SWEET MELODY: Prada was jazz inspired for the fall season and its campaign showed Angela Lindvall as a captivating songtress lensed by Steven Meisel

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY: Once again Steven Meisel captured a major campaign with the stunning trio of Natalia Vodianova, Karen Elson and Christy Turlington for Louis Vuitton’s fall campaign

FOR THE GIRLS: Miu Miu’s campaign once again starred spring’s star, Lindsey Wixson. This time she was joined by Siri Tollerod, Daphne G and Ginta Lapina for a colorful series photographed by Mert & Marcus

THE BIRDS: A cheeky Freja Beha Erichsen appeared alongside a gang of ravens for the fall campaign from Tom Ford eyewear

NUDE VALENTINO: Speaking of Freja, the Danish beauty also starred in the fall Valentino campaign where she spent half the time nude and the other half clothed, photo by David Sims

TEAM UP: Lensed by Mario Testino, Versace also went black and white for its fall campaign starring Iselin Steiro, Anna Selezneva and Valerija Kelava (unpictured)

Those were just twelve campaigns from the fall season. Which were your favorites? Can you think of other notable advertisements? Comment below!

Well Jil Sander always is a shoe in for me, Versace, Miu Miu and Kenzo also get honorable mentions but as a whole, compared to Spring…Raquel, Karlie, and Lindsay together surely take the cake… Spring it is!
