Return of the Supermodel? US Magazines Are Embracing the Model as Cover Star Again

DARIA WERBOWY ON BAZAAR – Daria Werbowy was also a Harper’s Bazaar US cover girl, posing on the magazine’s February issue. The Canadian model and face of Mango was cited as “The World’s Hottest Supermodel” for the headline.

KATE ON VANITY FAIR – Blonde bombshell Kate Upton channeled Marilyn Monroe on the 100th anniversary cover of Vanity Fair. Posing with a candle adorned cake and retro styled makeup, Kate delivered old Hollywood glamour to the fullest.

CARA ON W – British model Cara Delevingne landed on the September 2013 issue of W Magazine, photographed Mert Marcus and Alas Piggott. The blonde beauty wore a Marc Jacobs top on the cover.

ROSIE ON GLAMOUR – The August 2013 edition of Glamour US tapped British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the boys of One Direction for a cover. This marked Rosie’s first cover for an American fashion publication.

KATE ON ELLE – Third time’s a charm. Kate Upton makes her third appearance on the roundup with the September issue of Elle US. The blonde beauty gave a va-va-voom look in a slinky red dress photographed by Carter Smith.

While I’m not a Kate Upton fan, let’s hope that this trend of having models on magazine covers continues. It’s been a long time coming.

I kind of like having celebrities on the covers because then you know who the main article of the magazine is about without having to read it.
