Standing on the Sun – Following up the print advertisements, fashion retailer H&M has released a video starring Beyonce wearing its summer 2013 collection. The megastar sings her new song, “Standing On The Sun”, in the tropical locale of Barbados. Directed by Jonas Åkerlund, Beyonce works it in summer swimwear and beach coverups whether in the sand or water.
Dove’s Real Beauty Sketches – Dove presents a new film which aims to change the way women view themselves. The beauty brand set up an experiment where a former forensic artist for the San Jose police department sat down with several women and asked them to describe the way they look. Without knowing what they looked like, the artist made one sketch based off of their description and another sketch based off of a stranger’s directions.
Without spoiling he results, the comparison of both sketches are surprising to say the least. Dove explains the purpose of the experiment, “Women are their own worst beauty critics. Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful.” The brand continues, “So, we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.”
Check Your Hedge – Following up the print advertisements, here is a look at the official campaign film for Aldo’s spring 2013 collection. Top models Jourdan Dunn and Emily DiDonato evoke pure summer in a colorful selection of shoes and accessories captured by Tania et Vincent in a playful series of stop-motion videos.
Land of Vree – Director Charlie Wan shares with us this new fashion film made in tribute to the legendary Vogue editor Diana Vreeland. Model Ryan Christine gets decked out in her sixties best with looks chosen by stylist Newheart Ohanian for the undeniably chic video. The film’s retro looks are juxtaposed with well-known quotes from Vreeland.
Power of London – Singer-songwriter Eliza Dolittle explores London’s Battersea Power Station for this new film by shoe brand Palladium. The power station has a place in pop culture, appearing on the cover of a Pink Floyd album and serving as the backdrop of films such as “The King’s Speech” and Guy Ritchie’s “RocknRolla”. Dolittle tours the London landmark before its undergoes restoration while wearing boots from Palladium’s Spring/Summer 2013 Enzyme Washed Collection. See more about this film on Palladium
Funny Lips – Following up the print campaign, here is a look at the new Dior Addict Gloss film with its star Daphne Groeneveld. The Dutch beauty is featured in a video directed by Nathaniel Brown (WM Artist Management) made with images photographed by Steven Meisel. In the film, we see Daphne show off fresh spring colors on her bee-stung lips with a fun and playful energy.
Her Name is Candy – Face of Prada Candy L’eau fragrance, French actress Léa Seydoux, stars in a series of three short films directed by Roman Coppola and Wes Anderson. In the video, Seydoux is a coy beauty sought after by two men played by Peter Gadiot (Gene) and Rodolphe Pauly (Julius). The film release celebrates the n new “Candy L’eau” scent with hits stores at the end of the month.
Coco x Cavalli – Canadian top model and star of “The Face”, Coco Rocha, rocks out in this new film for HUNGER Magazine. Captured by Rankin, Coco shows off her singing talents for the first time with the song, “I Wanna”, a track exclusively written for her. Decked out in a wardrobe of spring looks from Roberto Cavalli, Coco does her best rocker impersonation in the colorful video.
Desert Disco – Sky Ferreira fronts Forever 21′s Festival collection in a new series of images and video captured at the Saguara Hotel in Palm Springs, California. The singer and model performs her song “Lost in My Bedroom” in colorful and flirty spring looks.
