American designer Tom Ford recently gave an Apple Talk in London. During the appearance, he touched upon many subjects, one being his marriage to his partner of 27 years, Richard Buckley. It was something not publicly known until now. Ford had this to say about his marriage according to WWD’s quotes from the event, “I lost so many friends in college. I would say more than half of my closest friends. Richard, my partner of 27 years, had also gone through something also quite tough in his life. We are now married, which is nice. I know that was just made legal in the U.K. which is great, we were married in the States.”

He also talks about his toddler son, Alexander, and how it has changed his life having a nanny in his house. “I can’t come downstairs naked and have a bowl of cereal in the morning, so I get dressed,” he says. “Before I had a child, I literally took off all my clothes the minute I walked in the door and that was that.”

On the issue of the popular Jay Z song which name drops him, Ford admits he’s surprised about the response. “It wasn’t what I expected – I had to go online and see what it really meant. What really freaks me out is when he’s at a giant stadium and performs it and there’s 60,000 people screaming your name. If you’re in the business of a brand it’s one of the best things that could happen to you.”

Thanks to WWD, we have some pictures where the legend poses for Tom Ford in looks from his spring collections styled by André Leon Talley. Pat (who recently starred in a MAC campaign) is flanked by South African Conrad Bromfield is a series of sensual poses. “I photographed Conrad with her in somewhat sexual poses, and the two of them as a couple do not look remotely ridiculous together, despite their age difference. They look absolutely right and completely plausible because Pat is forever young in her mind — and I must say her body as well,” says Tom Ford.

Tom Ford Fall 2014–Last season, Tom Ford dazzled with a collection of sparkle and shine, but for his fall-winter 2014 outing it was mostly about simple pieces and the result still managed to turn on the glam. The new season focused on streamlined shapes that echoed sixties mod with mid-length skirts and long-sleeved tops with no fuss. However a pair of sequin-adorned “Tom Ford” dresses emblazoned with 61 (the year of the designer’s birth) brought a sporty kick to the streamlined collection. Other maximalist leanings included a pink fur coat worn by Karen Elson or a leopard print dress paired with blue go-go boots.

Ford’s Glam SpringTom Ford delivered full on glam for his spring 2014 runway show held during London Fashion Week. While a lot of London designers previewed soft and romantic looks, Tom Ford’s woman is headed in a more sensual direction as seen by the collection’s skin-tight silhouettes and short hemlines. Spring opened with hard-edge leather looks such as motor jackets and dresses in chocolate-brown and then transitions to long-sleeve dresses adorned with psychedelic swirls. For those looking to cover up this upcoming spring, Ford offered menswear inspired jackets and trousers. The last section shined, quite literally with crystal embellished gowns and dresses.
