Jac + Jack Spring – Australian label Jac + Jack’s spring-summer collection stays true to its heritage of simple yet stylish pieces with an outing of easy separates and varied hues. Stephen Ward photographed the lookbook which features a selection of oversized dresses, slim-fit pants, black and white color-blocking and luxe cashmere knits. This season, the Jac + Jack woman looks to mix and match her wardrobe with these elegant pieces.
Sister Act – We have an exclusive first look at twin sisters and fashion models Elza and Vera Luijendijk starring in Australian label Cue’s spring 2013 campaign. The Dutch-born beauties strike elegant poses in the brand’s graphic prints and feminine silhouettes. Eastern inspired shapes such as origami pleating and razor sharp cuts bring some edge to the season.
Back Again – With a collection inspired by Russian from the Russian Matryoshka doll, the spring 2013 campaign from Camilla and Marc fuses tradition with modernity. Aussie beauty Rose Smith poses for Justin Ridler in textured and layered looks with metallic detailing. Modern Minimal – For its spring-summer 2013 campaign, Australian label Bassike reflects its minimal designs with black and white images starring Svieta (Chic) and Jacob Hankin. The handsome pair poses for Beau Grealy in sportswear inspired looks featuring luxe leathers, silk jacquards and double knits. Styled by Jillian Davison, Svieta and Jacob enchant in the monochromatic styles with athletic details. The spring collection from Bassike is in stores now.
Model Off Duty – Australian beauty Montana Cox is the star of designer Anine Bing’s spring-summer 2013 collection. The collection is all about “model off duty” staples such as leather jackets, simple tees and relaxed denim. With art direction by EW Studios, Montana poses for Meredith Bruner in a series of laid-back images.
Spring Flight – LifewithBird, a Melbourne-based label, enlists rising star Hirschy Hirschfelder for its spring 2013 campaign. The photographs were inspired by the late Corinne Day’s shoots for i-D magazine in the 1990s. The influence fits in perfectly with the 90s silhouettes and color palette of neon brights paired with pale neutrals. Metallic accents and a leather biker jacket in cobalt blue bring a modern touch to the retro influence.
Bassike Spring – For its spring 2013 collection, Australian label Bassike takes it back to basics with an outing of mostly monochromatic looks. The new season has an almost sporty vibe with oversized shirts bringing to mind sweatshirts. Trousers include drawstring pants and pleated shorts. The relaxed and baggy silhouette transitions into straight-lined skirts that fall at the knee, paired with button-up shirts.
Phuong My Spring – Vietnamese-born designer Phuong My presents a range of sixteen dresses for her spring-summer 2013 collection. Phuong is inspired by Asian art and western style as shown by the collection’s focus on shape and detail. This season’s creations include hand-beaded work, all using Swarovski crystals on materials such as silk organza, netting and lace. Phuong’s color palette is earthy with dusky tan, grey and bronze hues as well as deep charcoals for the elegant creations.
Simons’ Blonde Bombshell – Canada-based department store La Maison Simons taps Jessica Hart for its spring 2013 campaign. The Aussie beauty embodies pure sexy and playfulness in a mix of ready-to-wear, lingerie and swimwear styles photographed by Richard Bernardin.
