Sporty shapes including sack dresses and drawstring trousers are anything but casual with materials such as textured leather, laminated fleece and mesh knits. The silhouette is given some edge with frayed hemlines that are seen throughout the whole collection of boxy shirt dresses, cool tanks and cutaway shorts.
Valentino Resort – For the label’s resort 2014 collection, Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli created a collection of luxe ease with a mix of elegant day wear and ethereal nighttime looks. The first section of the resort line is more casual featuring military inspired trousers and capes that come in monotone shades of cream, navy and powder pink. Later prints are introduced in the form of nautical stripes and tropical florals for the Valentino woman’s day out on a yacht. Skirts are paired with simple shirts while evening wear is full of dreamy pastel floor-length dresses embroidered with delicate detailing.
Paule Ka Resort – Paule Ka designer Serge Cajfinger envisioned a jet-setting woman for the brand’s resort 2014 collection. The colors of the season–clay, chalk, granite and pops of red-orange, poppy and black and white–play into the lightness and global appeal of the collection.

Shoes for resort are high platforms; almost eastern inspired in varied hues.

Cropped tops are paired with full skirts and fitted trousers while jackets are boxy.
Hervé Léger Resort – The resort 2014 collection from Hervé Léger by Max Azria finds inspiration in water sports and sea imagery with an outing of form-fitting separates and wavy patterns. Leather harnesses and athletic style bracelets add a touch of edge to the sporty outing.
