Retro Fantasy – As with every season, Prada releases its highly anticipated “Fantasy” lookbook and spring 2012 is no exception. The new season features a dose of nostalgia with handmade collages of vintage photographs from the fifties and sixties matched with images from backstage at the runway show. Models such as Lindsey Wixson, Kasia Struss, Ginta Lapina, Fei Fei Sun and Daphne Groeneveld make an appearance in photos shot by Phil Meech and artwork created by Jereon Koolhaas and Lok Jansen.
Prada’s Technicolor Fall – One of the most highly anticipated shows of Milan Fashion Week, Prada, presented its fall 2012 collection on Thursday. Miuccia Prada placed focused on modified pantsuits, tailored coats and graphic prints for the new season. Opening with stark black looks, the Italian designer embellished coats and pants with beads or large jewelry pieces. As the collection progressed, color was introduced in the form of geometric patterns ranging from deep purple to orange marmalade. Moving on from last season’s pastel hues, Prada reinvented sixties staples such as long vests, tailored suiting and platform heels for the modern woman. Beauty for the show was almost as bold as the clothing itself, with models sporting ombre hair and smokey raccoon eyes for the new season.
Prada Daze – The spring 2012 campaign from Prada enlists a cast of all star models and newer faces including Natasha Poly, Meghan Collison, Elise Crombez, Ymre Stiekema and Katryn Kruger. Steven Meisel returned this season to photograph the girls at a gas station–an appropriate location for a collection featuring colorful car motifs. (Fashionista)
