The color palette was certainly autumnal with a mix of deep burgundy, marmalade orange, scarlet red and grey shades put on display. Layering was key to the Gurung woman’s wardrobe featuring dramatic coats paired with knit sweaters and sarong-like skirts. For his finale, model Joan Smalls walked out in a Swarovski crystal adorned gown featuring a vixeny high slit in midnight black.

Hailee in Prabal Gurung – On September 24th, actress Hailee Steinfeld attended the premiere of her new film “Romeo & Juliet”. The young star wore a white dress with Swarovski crystals and ribbons from Prabal Gurung’s spring 2014 collection. Hailee paired the look with a Jimmy Choo clutch.

Sarah Jessica in Prabal Gurung – Attending the 2013 Fall Gala of the New York City Ballet held on September 19th, actress Sarah Jessica Parker wore a custom look to the event. The star’s top is a a hand-draphed techno satin bustier by Prabal Gurung and her silk organza shirt was designed by Olivier Theyskens. Manolo Blahnik designed Sarah Jessica’s shoes.
Prabal Gurung Spring – Prabal Gurung’s spring 2014 collection toed the line between futuristic and retro-inspired with a showing of bold colors and body-hugging dresses of bonded satin. Adorned with dynamic prints ranging from floral to space age lines and graphics, models strutted the runway in sixties style cat eye glasses. Gurung also toughened up the bright looks with cigarette length pants and bomber jackets. Sweet heart necklines and printed tops contrasted with screen printed PVC jackets and plastic accents. Pointed sling-back shoes brought a sexy element to an already ultra-feminine spring.
Modern Classic – With past campaigns featuring top models like Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls, designer Prabal Gurung once again tapped a notable face for his fall 2013 advertisements with Bridget Hall. The American model rose to prominence during the 90s, working for brands like Versace, Lanvin, Gucci and Dior. Now, she poses for Daniel Jackson in a set of sleek and glossy images highlighting the fall collection’s sculptural shapes and shoes designed by Casadei for Gurung. Tiina Laakkonen worked as stylist for the shoot.
The Sway of Spring – Drawing inspiration from the work of Anish Kapoor, an artist known for his geometric and biomorphic sculptures, the spring 2013 campaign from Prabal Gurung highlights the shape and movement of the new season. Model Joan Smalls poses for Daniel Jackson in black and white studio images reflecting a sense of liberation and ease.
