Rocker Couture – The April issue of Vogue Russia shows off couture with an edge in Richard Bush’s (Trouble Management) black and white studio images starring up and comer Melissa Stasiuk. Styled by Veronique Didry, Melissa sports a mix of ready-to-wear and haute couture designs from labels such as Givenchy, Elie Saab, Valentino and Atelier Versace. Mussed locks by hair stylist James Rowe and full lashes by makeup artist Mickael Noiselet perfect the rebellious ensembles.
Pierre Girl – The fall 2012 collection from Balmain’s offshoot line, Pierre Balmain, offers up a youthfully rebellious look at the new season with light layering and body conscious designs. Model Melissa Stasiuk sports Balmain staples such as the skinny pant, leather jacket and short skirt in the ethereal images. The new collection also has an accompanying film inspired by French and Italian films of the sixties. In the film, Melissa stars alongside male model Adrien Sahores as the two flirt with desire.
Skyline Couture – Karl Lagerfeld appeared to be inspired by air travel and stewardess uniforms for Chanel’s spring 2012 haute couture collection presented earlier today. The Grand Palais was transformed into the interior of an airplane with models walking down the aisles in elongated silhouettes and extended shoulder winged sleeves. Playing up the jetsetter theme, blue was a dominate hue for spring with sky blue, sapphire and navy all making an appearance. Amid the blue display, there is crystal beading, drop pocket dresses and pleated skirts.
