Marni’s Modern Woman – For its pre-fall 2013 collection, Marni aspires to make clothes fit for the hustle and bustle of today’s concrete jungle. The result is an impeccable outing which juxtaposes military attitude with feminine touches. The transitional season features menswear staples such as double-breasted outerwear, slouchy trousers, parkas and duffle coats. On the softer side, there are pleated skirts, floral prints and metallic leathers. Accessories are functional yet stylish–featuring double-strap boots, fringe-decorated loafers and oversized totes and clutches. A color palette of pastels, burgundy, army green and charcoal brings a playful tone to the pre-fall separates.
Seeing Spots – For summer 2013, Marni releases its Polka Dot Bag collection made in rigorous shapes with perforated spots of calf or faux leather in multi-colored, or one-tone arrays. The collection of handbags, clutches, frame bags and shoppers is available in Marni stores and fashion retailers worldwide.
Marni introduces the new Flap Bag Collection for the resort and summer 2013 seasons. The statement accessory shows off the precisely cut leather made of lambskin and French soft calf in decorated, color-blocked and unadorned styles.
Saturday Morning – For its latest capsule collection “Saturday Morning”, Italian label Marni places focus on loungewear and sleepwear with an outing of easy silhouettes. Model Kolfinna Kristófersdóttir wears an array of oversize t-shirts, wide skirts and trousers paired with strappy sandles for the new season. Marni collaborated with Dutch artist Rop van Mierlo for the printed tees featuring variegated animal shapes including a donkey, tiger, parrot and ostrich. For accessories, the Marni woman dons shopping bags of PVC paired with leather handles.
Marni First – Launching its first fragrance, Italian label Marni enlists photographer Nick Knight to capture the advertising campaign made for the eponymous scent. Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann fronts the advertisement in a black and white portrait juxtaposed next to the red-capped, polka dot covered bottle.
Marni releases its Signature Frame Bag created for the label’s fall-winter 2012 collection. Composed of two layered shells, the interior of the bag is made of suede and detachable, while the outside shell is made in black, red or white calf skin. The Frame Bag is available in Marni boutiques worldwide or at marni.com.
Resort Silhouette – Marni’s resort 2013 collection plays a game of mix and match featuring pleated skirts paired with feminine blouses and twill jackets. A color palette of neutrals, midnight blue, tobacco, dusty pink, light blue and watery yellow sets the tone for a demure outing. The silhouette is minimal and crisp, offering skirts below the knee and slouchy, menswear inspired trousers. For accessories, Marni creates low-heeled sandals and loafers as well as clutches and coin purses in matte and shiny materials. / Model – Marte Mei Van Haaster
Marni’s Adorned Fall – For fall 2012, Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni exchanged her signature prints for a story of color blocking and structured silhouettes with a hint of Eastern influence. Autumn saw a lot of fur and layers with wide belts cinched at the waist. Shapes played with proportion, showcasing sculpted shoulders and wide skirts. Jewelry accents also came in the form of large brooches which adorned some garments’ necklines and sequin embellished skirts or tops. For beauty, models wore sheared fringe and long, stick straight hair reflecting the refined vision of the new season.
