Blonde Icon – Over fifty years after her untimely death, Marilyn Monroe still remains as an enduring figure in pop culture. Hair care brand Sexy Hair’s choice to use the blonde star’s image in a new campaign while a little nontraditional is a smart move–who else has such universal recognition? In the advertisements, Marilyn is depicted next to products such as their “Spray and Play” line juxtaposed with the late actress’s quotes like, “If I’d observed all the rules, I’d never have got anywhere.”

The Legacy of Stern – Well-known for shooting American Vogue in the 1950s and 1960s, American fashion photographer Bert Stern has passed away at the age of 83. Stern’s most famous work are his images of the iconic actress Marilyn Monroe, shot just six weeks before her death. His work has been influential to many contemporary photographers of today with its simple yet poignant style.
