The New Style – Spanish label Zara enlists Chiharu Okunugi and Kasia Struss for its November 2013 lookbook. The duo poses together wearing mannish style perfect for the cool fall-winter months. Just like Zara’s previous lookbook, Kasia and Chiharu look ultra-cool in the menswear inspired looks. Whether showcasing knit sweaters, plaid coats or cropped jackets, there is something cutting edge about the brand’s modern and sleek designs.
High Society Rebel – Posing at San Diego’s U.S. Grant Hotel, model Kate Potter lives the plush life with a rebellious wardrobe in ThreadSence’s winter lookbook. Nicole L. Hill captured the redhead stunner for the new style book images which were styled by Kate Bonus. In the images, Kate wears the online retailer’s youthfully chic pieces ranging from bohemian jewelry to dreamy maxi dresses.
Daisy Dresses Up – British model Daisy Lowe models a new collaboration between MatchesFashion.com and Vivenne Westwood. The line of dresses and gowns features plunging necklines, sculpted bodices and bold patterns. The 24 year-old seems like a perfect match for the job, citing that she has already been a fan of Westwood for many years, saying, “I wasn’t really that interested in fashion until one day, my mum (Pearl Lowe) came home with lots of big bags full of Vivienne Westwood clothes. Her dresses felt like playgrounds to me.”
Sonia’s Spring Looks – For its spring-summer 2014 collection, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel embraces bold colors and prints for a playful outing. Models Hannah Holman and Querelle Jansen pose in the lookbook images wearing the youthful designs decorated with fun patterns like stripes, abstract florals and animal prints. With a focus on separates, Rykiel’s signature of knitwear is spotlighted–woven sweaters and dresses stand out for the new season.
Strenesse Spring – For its spring-summer 2014 collection, Strenesse focuses on feminine elegance featuring sensual and easy silhouettes. With a focus on separates, the Strenesse woman wears boxy leather jackets and pants paired with flouncy dresses printed with geometric shapes. A color palette of mocca, vibrant ink blue, indigo and sunny yellow are all the looks of the season. Luxe fabrics like washed leather, fluid crêpe satin and organza bring a certain lightness to the spring.
Biker Chic – Canadian designer Mikhael Kale continues with an aesthetic of sleek yet feminine designs for his namesake label’s spring 2014 collection. Model Hildie Gifstad stars in the lookbook, wearing a colorful selection of looks mostly focused on separates. Felix Wong captures the brunette in Kale’s deconstructed motorcycle jackets, frayed pencil skirts and cut-out tops. The structured silhouettes are feminized with soft hues of lavender, yellow and cornflower blue.
Knockoff Chic – Following up a preview of the collection last week, we have a look at the lookbook for rapper M.I.A.’s Versus Versace collaboration. Inspired by the bootlegs of the Italian label she saw while growing up in London, M.I.A. worked with Versace to create a street style inspired line of graphic prints. Gold medallions, the Greek key and the Versace logo are all blown up for a colorful fall outing. The 19-piece collection is available now.
Hasan Hejazi Spring – Manchester-born designer Hasan Hejazi releases his spring 2014 collection, inspired by the power of female figures. In the lookbook, model Alex K wears wide-brimmed hats–placing a focus on the designs. The new collection embraces color with details that flatter the figure such as peplum tops, tuxedo-inspired accents and airy chiffons. “I wanted to create something that was colorful and versatile that women could have fun with but still remain powerful and sexy,” says Hejazi about the spring season.
The New Look – Zara releases its October lookbook for its TRF line, and the plaid trend is still going strong with an array of checkered looks for the latest style update. Grunge inspired layering and menswear-influenced brogues are a hot item for the fall season. Bomber jackets and floral prints in monochromatic shades add a touch of edge for the new outing
