Although already a favorite amongst fashion editors and clients alike, the spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection from Gucci takes shape in lookbook format with model Karmen Pedaru sporting the seventies influenced garmentss. Embracing jewel tones with metal accents and a dash of North African inspiration, the Gucci woman goes for the gold with the spring-summer season.
Gucci opened Milan Fashion Week with a fall 2011 showing which surprisingly stayed in the same vein as pre-fall’s glam seventies collection. Adding to that base, Gucci designer Frida Giannini took on jewel toned hues of turquoise and fuchsia with fur accents and sheer floor-length gowns. Models strutted down the runway with oversize hats, dark shades, plum lips and tailored jackets for one sexy and strong outing.
Gucci’s pre-fall 2011 collection is all about rise and peaks of seventies fashion. Starting off with subtle sophistication, the collection quickly transitions into full on va-va-voom glamour complete with shaggy fur and belted looks of elegant ease.

Karmen Pedaru appears in Gucci’s cruise 2011 lookbook wearing the label’s casual yet always glamorous designs. As we start to see pre-spring collections show up in print publications, we see the label’s light seperates and muted color scheme as well. As for accessories, the cruise collection features a larger variety of oversize bags and military inspired accents for a no fuss or frills cruise season.
