Playing it Straight – Vanessa Axente is the new face of Calvin Klein, following previous stars Suvi Koponen and Lara Stone in the fall 2013 campaign. The black and white studio images were photographed by Mert & Marcus. The Hungarian model dons the autumn season’s sleek and minimal designs with a mussed updo and fresh-faced beauty.
Focus on Shoes – For his fall-winter 2013 campaign, shoe designer Rupert Sanderson found inspiration in Eastern culture ranging from Japanese kimonos to Lalique glassware. The images, photographed by Eddie Wrey and styled by Tamara Rothstein, were shot on location at the Mayfair Japanese restaurant, Sake No Hana. “This season’s campaign really gives a razor sharpness and to a collection inspired by a modern and dark Japan. I was thinking Kill Bill and elaborate Japanese bondage techniques,” says Sanderson about the autumn advertisements.
Elegant Domestics – Shot on location at the Library of The NoMad Hotel in New York, Italian shoe brand Santoni’s fall 2013 advertisements portray a young and hip couple played by Lindsay Lullman and Jake Madden. Photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Giovanna Battaglia of Vogue Italia fame, the pair poses in a domestic setting, showing off the luxe styles of the season in the glossy shots.
A Simple Fall – After appearing in the previous season’s advertisements, Daria Werbowy is back once again for French designer Isabel Marant’s fall 2013 campaign. With art direction by Franck Durand, the Canadian model poses in a black and white set lensed by Karim Sadli. Stylist Marie-Amelie Sauvé dresses the brunette in the autumn season’s low-key separates.
Paris Elegance – Estonian model Karmen Pedaru is the latest face of Elie Saab, appearing in the brand’s fall 2013 campaign. Craig McDean photographed the dark-haired beauty in Paris, France, wearing the season’s delicate sheers and feminine silhouettes. In the video, Karmen evokes the very picture of elegance in autumn shades styled by Sophia Neophitou.
City Girl – Rag & Bone taps French actress Léa Seydoux for its fall-winter 2013 campaign, shot by Glen Luchford. The Palme d’Or-winner who has appeared in fashion magazines such as the French version of Glamour and Elle, poses in the city of New York in a series of black and white snaps. Seydoux kept it candid for the shoot explains the brand’s managing director Marcus Wainwright, “Glen achieved exactly what we were after – perfectly caught real moments without lighting or props. Even more exciting was shooting on film and developing in the darkroom.”
The Return of Kerr – After the success of last season, Spanish brand Mango once again enlisted bombshell Miranda Kerr for its fall 2013 campaign. Photography duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin snapped the Aussie beauty again in the label’s rock and roll inspired designs styled by Géraldine Saglio. Miranda spoke about shooting the new campaign in New York saying, “I loved that Inez and Vinoodh kept the look of the campaign very raw and natural and I think it compliments the collection very well. They did a fantastic job, as always!”
The Fuel – Barbara Palvin is the new face of Gas Jeans, looking cool and laid-back in the brand’s fall 2013 campaign. The studio shots were lensed by Giampaolo Sgura and feature the Hungarian model lounging in the brand’s denim looks as well as lingerie and leather styles. The autumn collection was inspired by the atmosphere of a rock and roll concert as shown by the metal details of the season.
A New Season – After posing seaside for the brand’s previous advertisements, Kendra Spears goes indoors for the fall 2013 campaign from Escada. The American model poses for Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer in a series of minimal images focusing on the autumn season’s tailored outerwear and feminine dresses. The custom-made set was inspired by modern art as shown by the graphic lines and color-blocking.
Shades of Fall – Dior enlists leading models Mariacarla Boscono and Elise Crombez for its fall 2013 campaign shot by Willy Vanderperre. The duo poses in an elegant setting complete with painted brick wall, modern decor and glam lighting. Dior’s accessories are front and center this season with a focus on shoes and bags.
