Dior / Mats Gustafson
Dior Gets Painted–Earlier this year, we featured illustrations of Dior’s fall line made by artist Mats Gustafson, and now the fashion house has commissioned the Swedish creative again to recreate its spring 2014 collection. Raf Simons’ designs are reinterpreted as watercolors, pastels and paper treatments for another take on Dior’s designs. In case you missed it, compare the watercolors to the spring runway show.

Dior Goes to Brooklyn–First Alexander Wang, and now Dior. Brooklyn is the new hot location for fashion, and the Paris label’s setting for its upcoming cruise 2015 show. The Navy Yard is the site of choice for the runway presentation which is slatted for May 7th. “We wanted the show to feel very New York, and the Navy Yard’s view and space captures the city,” a spokeswoman for Dior told WWD.
Dior’s New Face–Russian model Sasha Luss is the latest Dior beauty face, starring in the brand’s Dior Addict Fluid Sitck print campaign photographed by Steven Meisel and styled by Carine Roitfeld. This new lip product is neither a lipstick or gloss or lacquer, according to its press release. Fluid and glossy, it is a hybrid of all three. See Sasha in behind the scenes images and film for the fluid stick below.
Light as Air–The pre-fall 2014 campaign from Lady Dior once again enlists French star Marion Cotillard for her sixth year as the face of the line. We can’t complain though, Marion and Dior go together quite well based off these images photographed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino (who also shot the actress for last year’s pre-fall season). Marion is pictured jumping while barefoot in Raf Simons’ ladylike designs paired with handbags featuring the cannage pattern.
Sun Kissed Beauty–Continuing as a face of Dior cosmetics, Russian model Daria Strokous stars in a new campaign for the Diorskin Nude Tan bronzing powder. The line of products gives a naturally tanned look for a sun-kissed touch. See more photographs of Daria in the Diorskin Nude Tan advertisements and film below.
Dior Fall 2014–By now, Raf Simons’ vision for the Dior woman seems clear. A streamlined silhouette with unexpected pops of color which also honors the house’s heritage of expert tailoring. For the label’s fall-winter 2014 collection, the Dior woman wears the iconic Bar jacket as a fitted blazer paired with slim-fit pants and holds a vibrant stole over her arm in shades of fuchsia, sapphire and yellow. Elsewhere, she sports daytime dresses featuring unexpected slits–revealing pastel slips underneath. Simons then gets sculptural with full and ruffled skirts taking on varying lengths that show off a good amount of leg for the autumn season. Ending on an evening wear note, the Dior woman gets swathed in a crystal embroidered gown worn over a white, almost t-shirt like dress.
Dior Woman–Following up her appearance in the Dior “Blooming Bouquet” fragrance ads, Natalie Portman teams up with Dior once again for a feature in its quarterly magazine’s spring issue. The actress poses for Paolo Roversi in a series of dreamy portraits where she is seen wearing the sleek and ladylike designs of Raf Simons styled by Kate Young. For beauty, Natalie dons a swept-back updo and blush-colored lipstick.
Infinitely Chic–Wearing a wardrobe made exclusively of Dior’s spring 2014 collection and jewelry line, Anais Pouliot lights up the pages of Marie Claire Korea’s March issue. One of the faces of Dior–Natalie Portman–is back for a new fragrance “Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet”. The images were photographed by Tim Walker in a series of enchanting portraits. The perfume is described as a union of floral notes made with rose and fruity scents.
“Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a smooth and carefully formed perfume, not a sensory assault, but rather a halo, like an aura. It’s a “bubble ” perfume, one possessing the extreme elegance of gentleness ,” states François Demachy, the house’s exclusive perfumer-creator. See more photos of Natalie below, and make sure to view Miss Dior’s spring handbag advertisements featuring Jennifer Lawrence.
Jennifer and Dior Reunite–Back for her third “Miss Dior” campaign, actress Jennifer Lawrence poses for the spring-summer 2014 advertisements from the Paris fashion house. Unveiled on WWD, the images are photographed by Patrick Demarchelier with Jennifer modeling the new bag styles as well as looks from the spring mainline collection. Look out for the blonde when she wears Dior Haute Couture at the upcoming Oscars.
