Rita Reveals All on Elle–UK talent Rita Ora graces the May cover of Elle UK, wearing a Dior skirt and a Cartier bracelet. Her “Rosetta” tattoo is the true star of the image (photographed by Thomas Whiteside) though. Rita tells the magazine about the pin-up girl featured on her torso. “It’s based on an original piece by Alberto Vargas, who was an incredible illustrator in the 1930s. He was one of the creators of the pin-up image. That’s our build, our power,” the face of Material Girl explains.”That’s why I was obsessed with it; learning what men don’t understand about women and what women don’t understand about men. I was obsessed with the painting a long time ago, and then I got it done six months ago.” The new issue of Elle hits newsstands on April 3rd.
Amanda on Glow–Actress Amanda Seyfried graces the May cover of Canada’s Glow Magazine, looking ethereal in look from Givenchy’s spring-summer 2014 collection. The blonde starlet was recently named the face of the brand’s Very Irrésistible L’eau en rose perfume. Inside the issue, Amanda opens up about what it means to be a face of Givenchy, saying, “It’s not something I would ever have imagined could happen to me…I never saw myself as somebody who could represent something so chic.”
Miranda Talks Sex with GQ–Top model Miranda Kerr strips down and almost bares all for the May cover of GQ UK. Photographed by Mario Testino (who recently shot her for his “Towel Series”), the Australian model gives a sultry gaze in the image. On being more confident about sex:
“The older I get, the more confident I am about asking for things I enjoy,” she says. “One thing I’ve noticed is now that I’m having less sex my body isn’t as toned. I made Orlando wait for six months until I even kissed him… I always ask for a critique on my performance. I always want to better myself in every way.”
Fashion lovers have been lamenting the lack of models on magazine covers for awhile now. While foreign editions of glossies often feature models, US magazines have been favoring celebrities for the last decade or so. However, these past twelve months we could not help but notice a trend of models landing covers previously reserved exclusively for actresses and singers. Gisele for Marie Claire–At 33 years old, Gisele Bundchen is on the top of her game and proves so in the April cover story from Marie Claire Brazil. The face of Pantene poses for Kevin O’Brian in sexy all black lingerie looks for the newsstand and subscribers covers.
To the magazine, Gisele opens up about being a mother, her Gisele Intimates line and her workout routine. On staying in shape, she reveals, “I travel a lot, so my routine varies greatly, depending on where I am. But I try to work out an hour a day every day. Kim and Kanye on Vogue–After months of speculation, it has finally happened–Kim Kardashian has landed her very own Vogue cover. The reality television star poses alongside her fiance Kanye West in a wedding gown look photographed by Annie Leibovitz. The Kardashian family has been taking over fashion lately, with Kim’s younger sister Kendall Jenner landing coveted spots on the runways of Chanel, Givenchy and Marc Jacobs and a recent Calvin Klein campaign. What’s next? We guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
