IT – Style star Alexa Chung has made her writing debut with a new book called, “IT”, which is out in stores now. The book is part memoir, part scrapbook and part style guide. About the unusual title, Alexa says she was inspired by the writing process, saying, “The word it means a lot of different things, that’s why I chose it. At first it was a nickname that I had for the book and then it just became it. And it was ‘It’…gotta go home and work on ‘It’…It’s gonna be ok… this is IT. I love that word. It’s so small and can mean so much.”
“IT” has a lot of pictures which is always great for a fashion book. Of course, there are photos of Alexa but she also includes inspirational images of models like Kate Moss and Jean Shrimpton as well as movie stills with Diane Keaton and Winona Ryder.

Dressed by stylist Kemal Harris, the fierce brunette dons prints and plaids for fall. Alexa also opens up to the magazine about doing it all, saying, “Sometimes I feel a bit out here on my own. Say you’re a writer and you’re like, ‘Fuck, I want to be Joan Didion.’ Or you’re an actress, and you’re like, ‘OK, I want to be Meryl Streep,’ or you’re a photographer and you’re like, ‘I want to be Annie Leibovitz.’ I want to be all of those things, and so then it’s hard.”/ Make Up by Tamah, Hair by Kevin Ryan, Set by Shaun Kato-Samuel
