The makeup and hair for the shoot is kept minimal to let Cara’s natural beauty shine through.
Cara on Industrie – A mostly fresh-faced Cara Delevingne covers the fall-winter issue of bi-annual fashion publication, Industrie. This follows up a long string of covers for the British model including Vogue Japan, W Magazine and Numero. On the cover, Cara poses for Alasdair McLellan in an Azzedine Alaia look with styling by Alastair McKimm.
Three Beauties – Fashion brand Joie enlists fashion stars Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Poppy Delevingne and Anouck Lepère for its fall 2013 campaign. The advertisements were photographed by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Julia von Boehm in the romantic atmosphere of New York’s Gramercy Park, evoking 1920s glam. The trio impresses in the brand’s A-line shift dresses and lace detailing in pale tones. “Our concept has always been casual, comfortable, and luxurious, with each of these women embodying that idea,” says the brand’s CEO and Creative Director Serge Azria. Future Past – While Missoni’s previous advertisements focused on nostalgia, the Italian label’s continuation of its sixtieth anniversary celebration looks towards the future with the fall 2013 campaign shot on the deserted coasts of Cornwall. British model Stella Tennant poses against a cubic structure that looks straight out of a science fiction movie. Alasdair McLellan captures Stella in the autumn collection’s graphic prints and subdued color palette.
Rule Breakers – Style.com launches its fourth bi-annual glossy Style.com / Print for the fall 2013 season with a cover starring Swedish beauty Ellinore Erichsen. Inside the issue, Style.com puts the spotlight on Scottish designer Christopher Kane with a first look of his fall 2013 collection. On becoming a designer, Kane tells the magazine, “I don’t know when I decided, I just knew that is what I would do, for as long as I can remember.” The accompanying photo shoot, shot by Alasdair McLellan, also stars Marta Dyks photographed at Taylor High in Scotland.
Natural Glow – Gracing the pages of The Gentlewoman’s S/S 2013 issue, superstar Beyonce stars in this black and white shoot lensed by Alasdair McLellan. Beyonce sports a variety of designer labels from the likes of Celine, Dior and Alaia picked out by stylist Jonathan Kaye. For beauty, Beyonce’s ultra feminine look is paired with a cute, modern ponytail and a fresh face.
Past and Present – Missoni celebrates its sixtieth anniversary this year, and to commemorate the occasion it offers limited edition reproductions from its archives also featured in the Italian label’s spring 2013 campaign. Return to England – Rag & Bone once again enlists Kate Moss for its spring 2013 campaign, photographed in England like its fall advertisements. Lensed by Alasdair McLellan in Southrop, Gloucestershire, Kate looks laid-back and relaxed in the season’s stylish outerwear, leather trousers and button-up tees. “We shot our first campaign on a deserted North London street so thought it would be an interesting contrast to follow up in a remote English village, which Kate happens to have an affinity for. It was also a fun play on our British heritage,” says one of the label’s designers, Marcus Wainwright.
The Kate Factor – After appearing on the November issue of Vogue Italia, Kate Upton nabs yet another Vogue cover for the January 2013 edition of Vogue UK. The American beauty wears an ivory dress by Azzedine Alaïa in an image photographed by Alasdair McLellan.
London Calling – British label Jaeger taps Bette Franke for its fall 2012 campaign, lensed by Alasdair McLellan.
