Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2014 | New York Fashion Week

Alexander Wang Fall 2014–For his first runway show set in Brooklyn, Alexander Wang opened with a somber utilitarian vibe featuring grey over coats with boxy silhouettes. But it was not all gloomy. Wang’s fall-winter 2014 outing transformed into the more sporty aesthetic he is well known for with sweaters in neon green and sporty trousers with slouchy shapes. High tech effects were shown for the finale with an array of all black looks which changed into vibrant hues once hit with a heat vent–see Karlie Kloss’ purple jacket and shorts look for an example. Overall, the Wang woman keeps her cool factor with a look towards the future for the new season.

Prabal Gurung Fall/Winter 2014 | New York Fashion Week

Prabal Gurung Fall 2014–Nepalese designer Prabal Gurung married the idea of tribalism and urban chic for his eponymous label’s fall-winter 2014 collection previewed earlier today. The color palette was certainly autumnal with a mix of deep burgundy, marmalade orange, scarlet red and grey shades put on display. Layering was key to the Gurung woman’s wardrobe featuring dramatic coats paired with knit sweaters and sarong-like skirts. For his finale, model Joan Smalls walked out in a Swarovski crystal adorned gown featuring a vixeny high slit in midnight black.

Lacoste Fall/Winter 2014 | New York Fashion Week

Lacoste Fall 2014–Sporty glam. That’s what Lacoste creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista presented for the fall-winter 2014 presentation held during New York Fashion Week. The French label’s athletic inspired apparel included hooded sweatshirts, slouchy track pants as well as beanies. More feminine aspects were embraced with the pairing of chunky knit sweaters and fit and flare skirts. Prints were graphic and kinetic such as the top and mid-length skirt look worn by Katlin Aas during the show’s closing.
