Lady Sings the Blues – Inspired by the practicality and glamour of the forties, DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten created angular silhouettes for their label’s pre-fall 2013 collection. Model Jasmine Tookes dons a mix of high-waisted pencil skirts, daywear jackets and menswear inspired tailoring reinterpreted with the DSquared2 aesthetic. Ultra-feminine looks in shades of lilac, carrot, rouge, sand, black and ruby-red place an emphasis on body conscious silhouettes. For evening wear, the DSquared2 woman gets ready to hit the town in floor-length silk chiffon and crêpe gowns.
Easy Spring – Fashion retailer H&M mixes structured and relaxed silhouettes for its spring 2013 lookbook starring Nadja Bender. The leading model dons metallic detailing, pleating and foulard prints for the new season. Boxy shoulders paired with sheer dresses and pants evoke a modern, street wear influenced style for this upcoming spring.

A Road Less Traveled – Free People enlists Elsa Sylvan for its December style book inspired by travel ready looks and aptly titled, “The Road Less Traveled”. Structured Knits – Pringle of Scotland continues its tradition of elegant knitwear with its pre-fall 2013 collection. Embracing knitwear as outerwear, the Pringle woman looks for clean and structured silhouettes this transitional season. The brand’s argyle pattern is explored through a pointelle diamond knit with silk, cashmere and wool sweaters. A dusky color palette of black, navy, storm blue, dusty pink and peony offers color-blocking styles for a play on geometric shapes.
Nude Pre-Fall – For pre-fall 2013, the Carlos Miele woman wears a wardrobe featuring muted shades of nude, black, lavender and indigo embellished with chunky stones and crystals. Cocktail dresses and gowns take the collection from day to night with kaleidoscopic patterns falling somewhere in between. Pleated and ruched detailing on Miele’s clinging silhouettes make the outing ultra-feminine; aided by a touch of delicate lace and beaded embroidery.
Wu for the Younger Set – Available exclusively at Nordstrom stores in January, the spring 2013 collection of Jason Wu’s diffusion line Miss Wu features the American designer’s ladylike aesthetic for the younger set. Meghan Collison models the girlish mix of dresses, pants and patterned skirts in these whimsical style book images. Contemporary wardrobe staples such as the striped tee, ballet flat and mini dress all make an appearance with a modern gamine flair.
Holiday Beauty – Zara shows off looks for the holiday party season with its Twelve style book starring Kasia Struss. The Polish model exudes elegance in mostly black and white looks featuring a mix of harem pants, embellished dresses and blazers.
Decorated Pre-Fall – For Burberry’s pre-fall 2013 collection, chief creative officer Christopher Bailey focused on sculpted shapes with a touch of embellishment. Modeled by Karlina Cuane, the transitional season takes the classic trench into contemporary times aided by bold color-blocking, stripes and splattered prints. As for knitwear, the Burberry woman gets swathed in pure cashmere, alpaca wool and calvary twill in shades of crimson, navy, black and camel.
