  1. wtf is up with all this squishing and stretching of the photos? It just makes her look like a mutant…. I could understand it if it was part of the idea of the editorial for a mag like Dazed & Confused but for VP it seems like a gross decision.

    • It does look like mainly because photographer used ultra wide lenses on this (around 15-20mm on fullframe digital camera).

As a photographer I wouldn’t use anything less than 35mm lenses and only on more grand shots

      • I have shot girls with 14mm and 18mm lenses – it is wide but not squished like this. You are right that he has shot wide but some digital crap has gone on. And last month they did the same with Anja Rubik’s ed and it looked god-awful then too.

  2. From a fashion model’s perpective she looks gorgeous. Funny how photographers (and normal people) have completely different mind sets on how the photo and model should look. I respect all the patience, time, and scruitinizing efforts photographers use daily to channel their talents, but few photographers take into account how models and our clients want US to look. Not just the overall photo. So yes, it is essential for a finished editorial to have strong creativity, talent, and solid post production. Take it or leave it.

And please consider the models perspective next time you shoot 🙂
