New York Fashion Week recently wrapped its fall-winter 2016 runway shows, and there was plenty to take in for the upcoming autumn season. So what’s trending for fall? Top designers like Alexander Wang, Calvin Klein and Marc Jacobs spotlighted everything from plaid to colorful furs on the runway. Take a look at the four top trends from NYFW fall 2016 below.

Plaid made a resurgence on the New York Fashion Week runways, and designers gave the trend their very own twist. Gone are the days when plaid is just for grunge and rock and roll styles. With Calvin Klein Collection, creative director Francisco Costa gave a ladylike interpretation with loose-fitting dresses belted at the waist and featuring asymmetrical hemlines.

Rad Plaid–Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s made their sophomore outing with DKNY’s fall-winter 2016 collection. A selection of street style ready looks was accented by jackets in plaid for an edgy take on the print.

Rad PlaidCoach 1941’s fall 2016 collection took on the plaid trend as well. Creative director Stuart Vevers channeled high school style with an outing of varsity jackets, A-line skirts and studded accessories.
