New VintageChanel’s fall 2012 haute couture was dubbed with the name, “New Vintage”, and designer Karl Lagerfeld kept true to the theme of old versus new with an outing of elegant gowns, tailored pants and camellia adorned dresses. A color palette of soft grey, pastel pink, taupe and ivory set the tone for the fall season with patchwork prints and crystal embroidered garments. Classic silhouettes were made modern with metallic sleeves and belts. A heavy focus on layering and jackets put the fall in couture for Chanel’s grand showing of over sixty looks.

  1. Some of those silhouette and proportion ideas maybe come only close to working, but oh that last dress…now that’s a dress (not so much in that picture though–some others elsewhere show it off better).

  2. nothing stands out, i know that tweed is THE chanel icon, but… i mean if i wore any of these items, no one would know who it was by!
