  1. What in the world is going on with her chin?? I dont think ive ever noticed that her chin dimple is that obvious and protruding.

The hair and eyes are sick tho. Abbey cant really do wrong in book.

        • I dunno… I think I agree with Warren…. I would have put it a little gentler, but she does kind of look like an Olsen sister who fell into hard times. And not in a good way.

So odd, I usually love Hedi Slimane’s work and it’s refreshing to see Abbey with her mouth closed, finally, but… doesn’t quite do it.

          • I do agree with Olsen twin comparison. This kind of dark photography doesnt do ANYTHING positive for her. It showcases mostly negative.

        • I didn’t mean to offend anyone but those were the first words I thought of when I saw these pics. I guess “working girl with a meth problem” would be a euphemistic description. I mean, seriously, look at those hollow eyes with dark shadows, the unruly hair and that coat. In combination with the further lack of clothes and the tacky jewelry she wouldn’t be out of place in one of those cliché, misogynistic hip-hop video clips…

          • in case you haven’t noticed “hollow eyes with dark shadows, the unruly hair and that coat, the unruly hair and that coat. In combination with the further lack of clothes and the tacky jewelry ” has really taken a hit in the styling world, after all she is a model, so to most, these photos are actually quite stunning because we look beyond the impression it gives us.

  6. This is the Abbey we all know and love! He captured her so well.

Normally I have mixed feelings about Abbey’s blonde hair, but in these portraits it suits her perfectly.

  10. I think she looks more fresh here than she’s been doing in some of her photos lately. I love it when the make-up doesn’t cover the dark lines under the eyes. Nothing unhealthy in that, it just looks natural. Absolutely adore the 2nd and 3rd pictures.

    • I agree there is a fine line to getting this kind of look right (after all it is just a ‘look’ too, the same as totally retouched beyond recognition) and both model and photographer have done a wonderful job.

Bit obvious styling for Hedi though…

  14. I actually like the fact that all tiredness and flaws weren’t edited out. she looks more real. her eyes move me. these have an emotional quality I feel a lot of her work has been missing lately.

But for some reason I don’t, as a whole, like these much. And I hate the nosering. I mean that particular nosering, not the fact that she has one.

  15. gorgeous stuff – but the nostril stud is seriously distracting – I totally respect anyone’s desire to modify their body, i.e., piercing/tattooing/etc., & I can especially appreciate models who want do something like that – I mean, their bodies are essentially seen as a commodity by corporations to increase their revenue, so it’s only natural that many models might want to do something to “personalize” themselves – something that truly belongs to her/him. (Personalize might be the right word, but I think you know what I’m getting at.) And especially for Abbey, the nostril piercing has become a bit of a trademark for her. That being said, in this particular series, it prevents the viewer from taking in the beauty of the overall face – esp. with this lighting. (I do love the lighting in these shots!)
